Pure Vinyl

I posted a while back about music and records and recording vinyl. Tonight I started down the path of purchasing music on vinyl whenever possible. With the help of Pure Vinyl I’m hoping that I can buy music on records and then record it and listen to it on my iPod when I’m at work or traveling about.

I purchased the software, installed it and recorded Mogwai’s Mr. Beast, a vibrant album from those fellas from Scotland. Once the recording is finished I marked the tracks and readied the album for rendering. What makes Pure Vinyl so great is that it gives you a visualization of the album as an album; when you edit, you are spinning a virtual record, marking the in/out of each track. Cool.

When it came time to render though, the program crashed. And then it crashed again. And again. And again. I couldn’t get the album to render and couldn’t figure out why. I did some screen grabs and copied the crash log and sent it to Channld support, hoping to hear some good news soon. Their software isn’t cheap so I’m hoping their take on technical support isn’t either.
