What would they shoot if they were alive today?

This question came up between a colleague and myself over coffee this afternoon:

If Ansel Adams, Elliot Erwitt or Henri Cartier-Bresson were alive today as opposed to when they were actually alive, what format/platform would they shoot and what camera would they shoot it with? Would they retain the trusty tools that helped them earn their place in the history of photography or would they ditch all that film nonsense for a Canon 1D, a Leica M9 or a Panasonic GF-1?

I don’t know what any of them shot; I’ll have to read up and come back to this post.

And speaking of HC-B, SFMOMA is opening “The Modern Century” this weekend.
